Privacy

Lumogeny keeps almost nothing about you: no account, no cookies, no analytics. What you type into the site is worked out in your own browser.

Your kit and your brief

The shoot sheet works out its light plan and settings in your browser. The camera, lenses and lights you fill in are written into the page’s address, so you can bookmark or share the sheet, and kept in your browser’s local storage, so the next style’s sheet starts with the same kit. They are not sent to us. To clear them, use “Clear my kit” on a sheet or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Directions for a job work the same way: your browser loads the atlas and matches your brief against it there. The brief is written into the page’s address, after /advice/?q=. When you send it from the home page, that address is requested from our server like any other page, so it appears in the access log described below. Leave out names and anything private.

The search remembers the last five pages you opened from it, in your browser’s local storage, to show them first next time. Nothing you type in the search leaves your browser.

No cookies, no analytics

The site sets no cookies and counts no visits. The pages, scripts and fonts come from lumogeny.com itself, and the pictures from our own picture store on the same network (below): no other company’s scripts, fonts or trackers load with the pages. If we ever add a visitor count, it will be one that stores no personal data, and this page will say so first.

Access logs

The site and its pictures run on Bunny (bunny.net, BunnySoft d.o.o., Slovenia), which stores the pages and pictures and delivers them to your browser. Like any web server, Bunny’s network records each request: your internet address with its last part removed, the address of the page, the time, and the name your browser gives itself. We use these logs only to keep the site working and to see which search engines visit. Bunny keeps them for a few days. Our own server keeps no log of requests.
